BEN Drowned part 5

Alex had a nightmare. The Statue followed him. In his dream Alex knew this statue by name: Ben. Was Ben the statue the whole time? That question will be resolved in a later post but for now Alex awoke with little sleep and decided to do anything that day than face Majora's Mask. He decided to go back to the Old Man's house, where Alex bought the game, but the Old Man was gone...

Alex was ready to give up there and then, go home and play again but he noticed that the Old Man's neighbour was mowing his lawn. Alex decided to ask about the Old Man, Alex learned that the Old Man had no relatives, he never married and had no children or grandchildren. Alex decided to ask one final question - Who was Ben? The man's face fell grim, Ben had lived four doors down but something happened 8 years prior on April 23rd 2002. There was a terrible accident and soon after his parents moved away, the man refused to divulge any further information.

Alex went back to his dorm room and loaded the game up again, just as the night before there were two save files, "YOURSAVE" and "BEN". This time "BEN" was further in the game and he just cleared the Stone Tower Temple. Just as you should expect by now Alex was plunged straight into chaos but at least Alex was outside the Stone Temple Tower. However, it was now called "St o n e" and a dialogue box opened with complete gibberish on it. Link was disfigured, his back was cocked violently to the side. Link's face was blank as if he was dead. His body violently spasmed, demonic noises unheard in the game began to play with a high pitched laugh in the background. The Statue of Elegy appeared once more and immeadiatly the screen faded and the text "Dawn of a New Day" appeared without the subtext "llllllllll" this time.

Alex was a Deku scrub (the form you begin the game in) back in Clock Town. The scene played out excactly as if Link had gone back in time by playing the Song of Time.Tatl (assumedly an NPC) would say "Wh-what just happened? It's as if everything has..." but rather than end with "Started Over" it ended with gibberish text as the Happy Mask Salesman's laugh played again. Alex could finally control Link but due to the camera angle he was looking at Link through a door. Alex saw the Happy Mask Salesman who said "You've met with a terrible fate, haven't you?", the screen faded once again.

What does the game have in store for Alex now? Will we ever find out if Ben is the haunted Statue of Elegy? What really happened to him? Find out next time!
