BEN Drowned part 2
We left our hero feeling frustrated over the missing name of his character switched off the console for the night. The next day Alex Hall played the game again regardless of having no name. He made it to the Lens of Truth and then to Snowhead Temple. This is the sight that things truly go wrong as he tries to pull off the 4th day glitch.
So what is the 4th day glitch? To understand it we have to know the gameplay mechanics, the entire game a timer is ticking away as the moon grows slowly closer to Termina Fields (as we discussed last time). On the final day when the clock hits 00:00:00 talk to the astronomer and look through the telescope, when you exit the telescope you are given an extra day to complete any more quests you have left. Alex successfully pulled of this glitch and the timer disappeared, however, instead of still being in the Snowhead Temple he appeared in the final boss room. There was no sound and Skull Kid, a character from the game, was staring at Alex. The unusual part of this, despite no sound, was that Skull Kid should never appear here in the game. The background music began to play but nothing happened, wherever Alex went Skull Kid turned to face him. This happened for a full minute before Alex went to reset the console...
Just as he reached the button text appeared on the screen reading "You're not sure why, but you apparently had a reservation". This text should only appear when you get a Room Key from the NPC Anju at the Stock Pot Inn. Alex closed the text and explored the room further for any form of trigger to start the boss fight when another text appeared reading "Go to the lair of the temple's boss? Yes/No". Alex could not chose No so pressed Yes, the screen faded to white.
The words "Dawn of a New Day" appeared with the subtext "lllllll" beneath. Alex reappeared in Clock Town, the first destination you visit on Day 1 of the game. However, all the inhabitants of the town had disappeared. Usually after revisiting here using the 4th day glitch the guards are atleast there, but not this time, Alex was alone. Here seems to be a good place to end part two, with Alex about to confront a world of horror. With all of this said in this post, what about BEN? We know he had a file in the game but what did happen to him? Ignoring the obvious from the title could we be about to meet BEN? Find out next time!
