The History of Dopefish

Dopefish found humble beginings as an enemy in the game Commander Keen IV in 1991 and has since became a cult sensation. After his debut he found himself thrown into game after game in a flurry of Dopefish mania. After he appeared in Commander Keen IV he also has an appearance in three other Apogee games: He is a character in Commander Keen: Goodbye, Galaxy!, he makes a cameo appearance in Wacky Wheels and is mentioned in a secret message in Rise of the Traid. He was set to appear in the rejected ROTT level set called "Use the Fish" and also in Duke Nukem 3D.

In Quake and Quake II he appears again with Quake having a pathway which leads to Dopefish along with signs sayin "In Here". In Quake II in the "Cooling Facility" there appears to be a dead Dopefish. However, in Quake III Dopefish appears again proving he survived Quake II.

Dopefish returns in 1998 in the game Jazz Jackrabbit 2 but you are told that Dopefish was eaten. In 1999, Descent 3 had a competition where people could send a picture and character name and it would become a default character. Dopefish became a playable character. He also appears in the Red Odyssey addition to the game Battlezone. If you are successful in battle type his name in and you can find his bio.

In Daikatana Dopefish appears in various sections of the games each time having his own lair. Each lair has it's own terms of getting in and one lair appears per chapter in the game.In Anachronox Dopefish appears again but this time with three baby Dopefish.

He appears in the Max Payne game as a poster saying "Dopefish Lives!". Dopefish has two guns on this poster too. Dopefish also has a statue in the game Hyperspace Delivery Boy in 2001. He appears in a secret area which requires 21 Monkeystones to unlock.

He appears as a bobblehead desk ornimant in Hitman 2. Dopefish has appeared in more games but this is the last one I will introduce.
